0.3.2 or 0.4.0

So with all the talk of FPS drops and the amount of defects found in 0.3.1 do you think you can wait for the 0.4.0 port to CW, which may or may not fix some long standing issues, or are in favor in delaying 0.4.0 for possible fixes to the 0.3 release.

I guess it really depends on how far away 0.4.0 is. If we won't see it until fall, bring on the 0.3.2. If 0.4.0 might show up in august or early september, I can muddle through 0.3.1 until then. So for now, I abstain.

I think the frame drops are from two things: mappers adding way more particle stuff, and the missiles switching to 'real' objects. That was a solution in search of a problem, unless there's some behind the scenes reason for it that I'm not aware of. They look pretty much the same to me.

I am already planning a 0.3.2 release to include additional fixes, some minor balance tweaks and to address a small issue with the way 0.3.1 was delivered.
 
In the meantime we are getting development back on track for future features and developing our project roadmap towards 1.0

I just have 1 issue with the 3.2 patch, it's that when the game crash it doesn't remember the rank you had. It's getting frustration for some people that crash 2-3 per round.  :'(

Considering we are beta testers, not consumers, and the game is still in development, I would say whichever path works out most expediently and efficiently for the devs would be the way to go.

We seriously need to get off the old Crysis code imho.
I would really like to see a port to the new Cryengine 3 if possible upon release.
I am no coder at all but from what I read there are optimizations done to Cryengine 3 that may help.
Right now everyone needs a gamer system to play this and I think we need faster FPS to get the crowds back....
So yea hotfix the problems but port soon please.
The MOD is so great that I want to see more players....

Honestly what makes you think that cryengine 3 will be anymore bug free than the current engine is? Odds are it will be just as buggy as this one is right now and a full port to crysis 2 (cryengine 3) will from my understanding require pretty much a complete rewrite of the coding. Crysis Wars if cryengine 2.1 which is much more stable I'd prefer to go to that and wait to see how cryengine 3 works out. Just because cryenrgine 3 will be on 3 platforms doesn't mean its going to be great and new bells and whisles means more more stuff to easily break and cause alot of bugs with one line of coding that is slightly wrong.

Its also much more resource intensive.

Enjoy remaking maps, models , and code from scratch, while alienating half of your player base because itll require a coming soon (tm) machine, rather than anything currently on the market.

Dont worry, 0.3.1 was meant to be all encompassing, but devs released it early to keep us happy. 0.3.2 will follow soonish, this is what leer said on irc.

the port to wars should make everything much closer to buttah.
you doNT need a gaming rig to run this pretty good. I upgraded a SOCKET A athlon rig for 300usd and it runs just fine.
I want the port just to see but man i trust these guys 100 percent.
