I'm not sure why you'd want Cryengine 3. When's the last time you saw a good console port? I'm willing to bet (but do not know for sure) that it will end up having some problem that will make it undesirable to use. Whether that's going to be lack of SDK, terrible performance/optimization, or locked down code we won't know until it's released.

I think it's a non-issue for now, since the devs haven't even got it running on Wars yet, let alone making us all go run out and buy a new game.

We seriously need to get off the old Crysis code imho.
I would really like to see a port to the new Cryengine 3 if possible upon release.
I am no coder at all but from what I read there are optimizations done to Cryengine 3 that may help.
Right now everyone needs a gamer system to play this and I think we need faster FPS to get the crowds back....
So yea hotfix the problems but port soon please.
The MOD is so great that I want to see more players....

That is a big leap to CryENGINE 3. The CryENGINE modding community is not even certain how much access they will have to the CryENGINE3 API and what SDK tools will be available. Much of this is to be determined. Although there have been comments that Crytek will provide a low cost software development kit, similar to the UnReal engine, to the modding community. Supporting a modding community is a significant expense to Crytek. Maybe if they make more money on Crysis 2, because it will exist on the major consoles as well as the PC, they will be more willing to provide free or low cost modding tools.

This isn't the worst. When moving to the CryEngine 3 we will be losing ALL stock Crysis assets that were included in the Mod SDK for CryEngine 2. CryEngine 3 cames bare. It gives you the codebase, no additional assets like animations, textures, sounds, LUA files ... As you may see this would require a complete reboot of the project and start from scratch. So unless we get a whole extra team dumped into the mod this is not something we can "just do" and will require a long time of re-adding assets that we need.

Keep it with cryengine 2, since you already made so much work. Also, many people can't run crysis at cryengine 2 (but i can run warhead, except for the video card...)
