Well, this is my first attempt at mapping for crysis or MWLL, and I thought I should get the opinion of the players here before going further.

This small map is situated in an impact crater on Strana Mechty, created centuries ago by a large meteor. Soon after it was discovered, it became a favoured location for various clan trials, due to it's clear boundaries and prominent terrain.

It is primarily intended for smaller games, such as clan trials. I've attempted to balance the small size of this map by allowing good visibility, in an attempt to prevent either brawlers or snipers from becoming too prominent. If it becomes clear that either one has an advantage, i'll adjust the map accordingly. VTOLs are planned, aeros are not.




Of course, this map isnt remotely finished. The main reason i'm posting now is to get any feedback on the basic map structure before it gets too entrenched. The final map won't be quite as open as it is here, as I plan on adding various artificial barriers.

EDIT 1: Increased the overall size a fair bit, and added a Union to the center. Our fighters need to get there somehow :P

I like it, the dropship in the center seems a bit out of place, I think one by each base would capture the idea a little better. but other than that it looks cool, any ideas on what the weather will be?

You can't really tell from the shot, but theres a small spaceport around where the dropship has landed, so it's not quite as out of place as it appears. As for the weather, i'm still experimenting, i'll let you know if I find something I think fits.

Looking forward to this one solus. I like the layout, but making the centre more accessible from all sides would probably be better than allowing access up certain areas.

Unfortunately, due to the computer I was making this map on going kaput, it will be on hold until my computer gets back from the repair shop. I'll post here when work resumes.

To clarify, the hard disk is completely fine, so I haven't lost any work. I'm just unable to continue it for now.

SIGH. Clan trial map. When was the last time you saw a turret in a trial of position? Have you even played MechWarrior 2?

You've played Mech4 Mercs right? Did you ever do the full Steiner rep ending where you issue a trial of possession for a spot in Clan Wolf? Did you notice how many turrets were in the map?

Anyway: How big is the playable area Solusphere?

Either way: It reminds me I should find time for updating my map for duels. Got update ready, just no time to test it with someone >_>

Size wise, I think it's roughly as big as Thunder Rift, though it's more open as well, so it will probably feel a bit smaller.
