Primary Objective :
Level up to a rank where I could buy any Aeros I want ( Yeah, saying that in a topic created by Virt is kind of telling some Green Peace Guy : " I like to hunt whale for fun")

Secondary Objective : Help my teamate the much I can ( Like : Destroying both arm on a Nova, Sniping BA and such)

Optional : Wacking some Heavy with a Bushie.

Primary objective: Have fun.
Secondary: Get and stay on top of the scoreboard
In case secondary becomes boring (it does very fast): Try new variants and assets. For instance, about a week ago, I started aeros. By now, I think I have gotten pretty good at it.

Very good point.   In fact, for that reason, I think the scoring on MWLL should be tweaked.

I think the formula should be:

(Damage dealt) minus (damage taken) plus (points for killing an enemy pilot) minus (points for dying) minus (damage to teammates).

I tentatively agree.

I tend to play aggressively and often top the scoreboard and have a good k/d ratio, but I do wonder in the back of my head if I've done more damage than received. Generally I think the answer is yes.

The only trouble I see with this scoring method is that it might encourage even more defensive play than I already see (more camping ans such). Since I enjoy being in the thick of a fight, it could drive the fun right out of playing for me.

1) try new tactics or variants and try to see if they fit my overall play style
2) use Aero's or VTOLs to keep my skill with those assets up
3) have fun
4) help new people get up to speed
5) tie up other recognized vets to so they don't keep ROFLSTOMP the new guys ;)

primary objective - have a good time (involving stupidly funny (to me) tactics that have rough results, and toying with enemies using "pea shooters" like the sulla prime and ipoke, and etc)

secondary objective - make my way at least half way up the scoreboard, i seem to do that every time so i know i dont suck

third...inary... ojective - unleash my C.R.A.P.tastic wrath upon longtoms and missle boats, plus the occasional atlas.

I like to keep the opposing team off balance as much as possible.  I try not to continually throw the same asset or tactic at them repeatedly, even if it turns out to be reasonably successful.

The idea here is to always have the enemy trying to be reactive, which usually destroys any sort of strategy they might have.

This agenda includes me buying BA-only weapons at the start of a game and repeatedly giving all my remaining C-Bills to a teammate to buff up their purchase options.  Nothing quite like seeing a piddly BA riding into battle on the shoulder of a Bushwacker or a Warhammer within the first 3 minutes of a game.   ;)

Typically, I like consider it to be a "good round" when I've managed to get promoted to the point of being able to afford a Heavy mech of my choice, or (preferably) a Shiva. I don't really care about my kill/death ratio too much...I'll go back to base to rearm and repair, sure, but I absolutely REFUSE to eject from my mech in the midst of battle like every other BA douchebag. I think it serves absolutely no purpose, it just makes you run around and annoy people, while denying them a kill from the mech they just spent all that ammo destroying. Every round I play, 9/10 people will eject from their mechs, making you hunt them down because apparently they've got nothing better to do than be annoying little jerks.

If I'm feeling frisky, I'll be dedicated AA for the round with a RAC2 Partisan, and later a UAC2/5 Huit. Very satisfying. It also lets me hunt down BAs even easier. I hate them so much  >:(

Awww, I sense bitterness.

Depends on who I am. If I'm an IS pilot i selflessly do what is needed, coordinate with the team, give out cbills, and try to never ever die, ejecting at the last moment and hightailing it back to base for a new mech.
If I'm clan I either get the biggest ugliest mech I can find and charge into the enemy taking as many as I can and yell at my team to get their pathetic freeborn asses up here and help me crush them into base until my mech is scrap at which point I eject and charge into the enemy with fist and small laser, or go elemental on some asses with an APC.
I never take planes, have never bothered learning to fly since Red Baron and TIE fighter for DOS. But really, after those two? No other games come close. :D

All comes down to it I prefer the IS mode, but the clan mode is quite relaxing because I have trouble not minding dieing.

First priority: Kill enemy mechs as much as possible, preferably in close combat one on one fights.
Second Priority: Beatstick and picking aeros out of the air like flies.
Third priority: Rank of GC or above that.

Generally, what I look for in a game of MWLL, is killing as many people as I can, and working to ensure my team wins. I also have "fun rounds" where I do one thing for the whole map, be it BA, Tanks, Mechs (light, medium, Heavy, rarely assault) or air. I love flying around in a sulla prime eradicating punks from MY SKY.

To put it succinctly, I wanna crush the other team's testicles. That's how I roll.

Yes, I am an asshole, I know this.
It is intentional, though usually not too horribly personal.

Well, obviously I like doing things that I consider to be fun. High KDR or scoreboard position is occasionally a result of these activities..
I like:
1. The owens B. Nothing says TTPPBBTTPPTTHH! quite like charging the enemy line and nailing 3 or 4 mechs with srms before running like hell- and suckering them into the massed formation of your team mates where they quickly go *poof*
2. The ErLrg sulla / sparrowhawk. Its not terribly effective-i'm usually 0/xx but its pretty damn fun to use. AND the agility and nuisance factor causes aerowhiners to switch to AAA, who get pissy because I don't let them shoot me down  ;D
3. TANKS - Man i love tanks in this version, they're just soooo.. sooo.. tank-like. Tanks provide more of a simulator feel for me. PLUS i don't hate battle armor, but i DO love the way they splatter. 360 turret rotation + AC's = SPLAT  ;) Nailing aero units is pretty satisfying too since its actually a challenge now.
4. Battle Armor - I do enjoy using battle armor, but mainly I love the micro heavy laser. Lots of BA for me to shoot, heheheh.
5. But in general I like trying new and difficult tactics/manuevers. Notice to Dev's: if you put an arch on your map, I will try to fly a sulla through it at full throttle :P

I like to keep things moving.  A fight isn't a fight if I'm not going for a specific objective, such as maim, kill, or simply hold off as often happens when I'm fighting a heavier mech.  Love you guys who jump in to support me when doing the latter.

I don't like camping, I don't like sniping, and I don't like pelting from range as a BA.

I prefer to go in, hit the enemy where they're weakest, and scoot out if I can.  I prefer mechs of medium to heavy range because they give me this capability.  I'll admit I have a soft spot for clan heavies, too, as many front-line mechs are crazy fast.  My favorite battle armor weapons are the AC2 and C8 because they do the most damage, and they compliment each other at the ranges they work best.

As a side note, I'd like the TAG laser more if people took advantage of it.
Thanks for the view.

Objective Primus: Have fun.
Objective Secundus: Support my team from long range with direct fire weaponry.
Objective Tertius: Be a dick in Battle Armor with a yellow pew-pew laser of death
I want to put a bullet between the eyes of every panda that won't screw to save it's species. I want to open the dump valves on oil tankers and smother all those French beaches I'll never see. I want to breathe smoke. I want to destroy something beautiful.

Category 1: In an actual match (i.e. when I'm not fapping around)
1: Destroy misconceptions (BA are OP, Aeros are OP, AA is OP, etc.)
2: Punish bad tactics (ACTIVE RADAR YEAHHHH, boat boat boat plane plane plane tom tom tom)
3: Teach new players (press 'f' to enter a mech)

Category 2: If I'm fapping around:
1: Have Fun
2: Explore
3: Try random things

The majority of my recent playtime has fallen into category 2.
Played MWLL for Guillermo del Toro.
