What is the point of that, really? Anyone that is going to have any interest in this topic is either going to read the whole thing, or have been following it and know how to click on the most recent page.
The poll at the heart of the thread now mixes votes from before the 0.3.2 changes, and post the 0.3.2 changes.

I would open another poll after some time in order to allow accurate testing, in the meanwhile this thread is fine for discussion.

I'm happy with the balance as it is now. That 8% was just right. Sure Aeros can pretty much be guaranteed to get a bombing run off before getting killed, but so far it does not seem to be a problem. If you're in a mech, don't stand still and the fbombs won't kill you outright.

Well, I can safely say that AA is much improved with the changes. Unfortunately, once you have a Huit up, a lot of ASF pilots tend to stop flying. Non-Huit AA is usable. Bascially, it's acceptable for shooting at smaller ASF's. They do not defend themselves very well against ground threats, however.

The Huit Prime works great against non-Shiva ASF's, but I really haven't had a good opportunity to fire at a Shiva yet. I would imagine that it does acceptable damage, given the damage it does to ground assets. The Huit can, more or less, defend itself against ground threats. I still find myself questioning why it's so slow, and overheats so quickly under boost. It has trouble maneuvering, and difficulty fighting its way up any hill that you don't hit at "top" speed. You can take a few hits, but you're definitely not going anywhere if someone rolls up on you in a brawler mech.

It also seems that if you take an engine hit, the top speed isn't reduced. So it's essentially so slow because it has engine damage right out of the hangar? Just seems a little off to have the speed so much lower than a Demolisher, which weighs more, carries large weapons, and has much heavier armor than the Huit. I got bumped by a mech last night on Sandblasted, which sent me rolling backward down a dune. I couldn't stop. Had to roll all the way to the bottom, then climb up under boost. Seems worse than it should be, even if it's meant to be slow.

From a combat perspective, it's quite good once you get it into a good position. But 33k/h, and only a few seconds of boost time before overheat? Ouch.

The Huit is canonically slow.

From Sarna.net

"The Clan disdain for both artillery and combat vehicles led the Huitzilopochtli to be built around an ICE, which can only propel it to 32 km/h. It is so slow that it is often moved by DropShip, prompting a questioning of what its designers considered "mobile artillery." Designers also skimped on armor protection, with a mere five and a half tons considered adequate for a unit that should be kilometers away from the battle. The Huey was again snubbed with the usage of standard armor, though an ECM Suite makes it difficult to locate and protects it from enemy electronics."

Vehicles in MWLL do not use ICE engines due to the issues that would create with our current balance tables, so the Huit gains some additional pod space in our game vs canon.  Also, we gave our Huit a MASSIVE amount of armour compared to canon simply because it would suck a great deal to spend several minutes getting out to the battlefield only to get immolated by a single AC20 to the rear armour.

Tracked vehicle speeds are currently under review for possible revision.

The Huit is canonically slow.

Good enough for me. I'd actually prefer that most vehicles stay as close to canon as is reasonable, I was just curious in the case of the Huit since it seems so crippled. Thanks for the quick response.

Something that might help at least my perception of the Huit would be more torque. I don't know if that's easily adjustable or not, but with such limited speed, and short boost time, hills are a real problem. Especially when you start down an incline you didn't intend to. You're probably headed all the way down whether you like it or not.

Just wait until we can start deploying Huits and Longtoms via Karnov transport! I'm going to fly an AAA huit at the end of your airfield! <evil laugh> Mu ha ha ha ha ha </evil laugh>
