Awesome work!  I always thought destructible buildings were the only thing missing from the game in my eyes (besides more mechs!  ;))




better to use particle effects for that sort of thing.  This method is more suited to large scale collapses.

animated lava flows where mentioned earlier.  That might be hard to make look right.    pyroclastic flows however *might* be easier to fake







Helps that Pyroclastics you could fade away fairly quickly to lessen the server load while lava would theoretically require new layer of terrain + an animation or at least a new skin of it cooling/cooled to be remembered for the match.

Looks like an efficient way to get some nice destruction going on. Would probably still be a substantial amount of work, but could definately be a cool feature in games with bases or something to fight over.

What I wonder is if we can get some buildings with largely destructible walls.  Just imagine BA crashing through after eachother and blasting out walls.  It could be fun.  Then, when certain key supports are destroyed, the whole thing can come crashing down.
