Yeah, it's a nasty bug with C8, that makes it much less useful, that it should be. Throwing it at point blank usually helps, but even in that case there's a chance of a charge bounce away.

Do grenades still break if you tap the nade button too fast in succession?

It's not a bug so much as the grenades aren't sticky enough.  If you throw them on flat surfaces on a mech, they'll generally stick.  Uziels and Thanatos's are easy targets.  Mechs with most of their volume spread horizontally, like the Bushwhacker, the Madcat, and the Shadow Cat are hard to plant on when moving.

To be honest, the hit detection is drastically off, as usual.  Sometimes I watch the grenade bounce off only for it to teleport and stick another second later.  Sometimes I see a grenade stick, then teleport back to mid-flight and fall to the ground.

And no, the grenade throw button doesn't stick you if you mash it too fast, but the real rate of grenades thrown is slower.  One bug I've encountered, where if you spawn from an APC, you can't switch grenades or the entire grenade function is stuck, disabled.  I find that jumping in and out of the pilot's seat in the APC prevents this.
Thanks for the view.

yea that's lag and Crysis working hand in hand to put oil on the surface of everything so you can't stick anything.

I've noticed that mechlegs in general aren't sticky at all, while torsos are nontheless.
you may stick nades to anything but legs, the problem is to hit with all that Crysis and lag around... xD
If at first you don't succeed try again, and if you don't try again, you'll be hit in the face with a shovel!

Regarding C8 and narcades... I've had the best luck with them when jumping over a mech to get behind him, and chucking it right after I spin 180 and am starting to pass to his rear. Just point the reticle at the middle of the mech and lob it. In most situations it will stick. If you're aiming for legs... probably not gonna happen. Best bet is to run a game local on your PC and practice a bit to get the hang of it.

Not saying they don't bounce off from time to time.... but they're cheap, so if you're running dedicated BA, throw all them suckers before you get popped... Quantity = quality =) Not to mention if you miss in a big mess-o-mech-melee, someone will probably step on it anyways. Random explosions are good!

Infernades! Yes these will kill you pretty quick... I think they have less than a 3 second timer, and a large blast radius. Trick is to chuck it as you're starting your jump BACKWARDS, or are at a high enough height moving in the other direction. They may generate a nice flash of heat to mechs... but killing other BA are their speciality soley on their quick fuse and large blast radius. I finally got a clean kill with one the other night and it felt good =)

If you're playing BA, your job isn't to have the best K/D ratio... it's to sow chaos in the enemy's ranks. Little mechinized suicide gremlins!

All in all, they're still not where they should be, but they seem to be working better than they were in 0.2.0

Where do you believe they should be?

Personally, I think they're fine except when they eject from a mech, but I don't know much about CBT :-\

Balance wise I think they're fine. Game mechanics wise they just need to be tweeked a bit more for stickiness. Definitely easier to use than they used to be though (maybe I'm just more used to them now?)

Ahh my post was a bit misleading =) I was refering to grenade mechanics specifically when I stated I didn't think they are where they should be.

Yeah, for a second I imagined C8 ejecting out of a mech
