BAs are pretty much free kills in the mechs I like to use.

Given the right situation (SA_Extremity and against heavy slow mechs), they are super dooper.
Against faster mechs with LBX and AC2, they're cannon fodder.

It all depends on the situation.

I think they're about right in power, however, the reward for killing them should be a bit higher than presently.

I do agree that BA's should be worth more.  Maybe makes them like mechs in that, the more expensive weapons they're carrying, the more they're worth.

BAs are pretty balanced.
A couple of days ago i joined a server running Mirage. Since the game was already going some time i chose BA.
A APC was already deployed. And i joined a couple of BAs harassing one heavy and one assault.
They went down (they were also under fire form our mechs).
We continued to decimate the mechs farer away....
Then the respawned wave came... they learned... assaults and a Hollander RAC.
Well my last thought on that spawn was 'RTB'... that thought ended in a swarm of lead...

BAs are fine now, the only thing I would do is to increase the score gain for killing one.

Thank you for the feed back, as a result I have reconsidered my position.  I'm thinking that the problem I had may have been as a result of poor (fps) as a result of  getting in the middle of a group of three BA and a need for a major increase in my RAM, but that's for another forum.  Please feel free to participate in the poll.

Good game !

I was one of the BAs in that fight. I didn't mind the assaults at all, but that Hollander got me eventually. Good fun.

  Hardware considerations aside I think the lonewolf strategy is showing to be of limited success since the last update.  Rampaging bands of BA should rightly cause mechs to work in close coordination with one another.

  If someone doesn't like falling victim to the BA then don't make yourself their target. Remember this is a war and you will need a battle buddy or buddies.

 As the game flexes and grows the strategies will have to evolve to the new game dynamics.

A group of three effective BAs should be wiping out mechs, that is what they are for :)

I have trouble with multiples or when they are able to use terrain effectively but I find them fairly easy to kill on equal footing. I don't do too bad myself with them, which helps with knowing where they are likely to move to or where the apex of a jump will be as light weapons can waste them pretty easy when they lose momentum.

I think they should be worth more and maybe even collect XP a bit slower. I know that when I go BA I tend to rank up a lot faster than as a mech because I can follow and harrass quite easily and it appears I get more XP per point of damage. Maybe it just seems that way.

The only thing that should be dying to a BA 1v1 right now is a Longtom. If you go solo against a BA and lose and you're in a vehicle/mech/asf/vtol then the problem is not the BA, but the player. Just need better practice piloting.

Now if 2-3 BAs kill your mech... Thats a 2v1 or 3v1, you should die. You're fighting 2-3 other players by yourself.

The problem with battle armors is they're so hard to hit with anything short of a pulse laser.  I've shot flamers, ppcs, ac's, lbx's, etc. inches from a BA and they don't even get touched and they just run circles around you without taking any damage. Roll up with a Nova Cat and you can basically chew up every BA.

I believe BA's could do with a bit more survivability, nothing too much, but a little boost.

They could probably do with awarding more 'points', but that isn't something I really care too much about currently, I just want them to be effective in no respawn matches, which currently they struggle to be considering how easily they are killed. Make them as survivable as they were in 0.1, or nearly that, and they'll be fine.

I've said from the get go that the BA's ability to do damage versus their value when killed is disproportionate. I think they need to be worth mew points.

I think we should test this. Any takers on putting together a team consisting of exclusively BA and pitting it vs another team of various mechs? My money is on the BA's winning. They'll die alot more but they'll wrack up far more points I'll bet.
