Clan Hell's Horses is also actively recruiting again.

And I hate it when Devs or game companies say something is coming "Soon" so I will not say that. Just get ready.

I'm interested in this, but the poll has closed. I'm not a member of a clan, and probably won't have time to be, so 1v1 is most interesting to me. I also love the idea about Mercs/bondsmen for lone wolves, but this would need to avoid becoming too complex. A way to track their experience/match statistics would effectively become their resume, and they might have to be dealt with differently to a standard player if that is possible.

Heck, perhaps I should just join a clan. I have no dea what kind of commitment (hours per week) is required for this though, hence I haven't looked into it.

Rampage why close the poll! There's nearly 9000 Members, and how many have voted hmmm! Keep the poll open (infinitely) and have the Members being able to switch their vote.

That more or less depends on which position you are aiming for. The higher you aim the more time the members expect you to sacrifice :(

Great, I have no real desire for greatness, so just to play with an organised team would be my goal. Unless being an "enlisted" means that you only get to pilot crappy mechs.

That said, Owens B or Shadowcat B is all I need top have fun, so I'm fine with leaving other team members with the lion's share of the cash in restricted cash matches.

Nah that solely depends on the unit you join. I would set the Member up in the asset he is most confident in, thou during a drop you would most likely be fielded in the asset closest to the asset you feel confident in.

Yeah there are always roles to fill in any unit and almost every drop. Once in a while, a Drop Commander has a very specific strategy that requires rigid adherence to his asset allocations. In that case, you might get stuck in a vehicle or mech that would not be your first choice. Even then it is fun to do your best in the unfamiliar role. Sometimes you learn something new about your abilities and find a new role. Most of the time though, your role is what you are best at and will be utilized by the DC to make the unit as efficient and successful as possible.

I think that the basic part of being in a unit or clan is following rules and orders correctly. and about the commitment some units/clans require it, some don't
People are stupid if they think they can have their own way.

... that is, unless they have HEAP rounds, high-explosive homing missiles, and terawatt lasers on a walking weapons platform, that is...
