Yeah but we don't want to piss off the people who let us use their code and supported this mod...also didn't MWLL get a piece in PCgamer, I have the article in fact, its not long but it makes the mod look great...once we port over to wars maybe they will get another announcing the final move of the mod and how much better it is...or im thinking wishfully but who knows ::)

Pictures and text might look nice, but if you can't test it out...
Its not like you could offer a demo version of MWLL. A server with no purity validation can server that purpose. Going by only people in my vicinity I know of 3 sold copies of Crysis and Crysis wars that would never have been sold had there been no way to test MWLL.

As long as you still gain something by getting a proper copy (more/better servers) I think an open server will actually aid in selling games.

Putting up more vids on youtube might help, that's how I decided to buy the game.
Sadly, there aren't that many, and they're really hard to find (simply typing in MWLL gets me practically no results)

I don't need the CD to play Warz. Will we need to it to play MWLL once ported. Not like it's a problem cause I have the Maximum Edition, but just wondering.

If you can play Wars without the CD in the drive then you can play MWLL too.

Wars requires online activation, thereby removing the need for a DVD in the drive. MWLL does not at all interfere with Crysis own authentication mechanisms, so no, you won't need the Wars DVD in the drive when playing MWLL.

I could certainly see Crytek getting pissed over an MWLL official cracked server. However we had nothing to do with BOSS and I feel griefing the owner was not in the comunities best intrest. Infact I bet pirated crysis is the best selling tool crytek has for their next title that I am sure will have better copy protection. More fans of the game generates more hype and sales of the next title. I am willing to bet selling crysis is not keeping the lights on at crytek anymore. Past revenue and faith in the next title are their lifeblood. This is all wild speculation ofcourse.

Who really liked Crysis though, except for the bunch of fanbois over at Crymod? It was a pretty mediocre game with a sub-par multiplayer and I wouldn't blame Crytek for worrying about every customer who didn't fall for the trap and buy instead of "acquiring" it otherwise.
Ultimately, Crytek will admit to being a developer of most excellent engines and rather poor games and come to the only logical consequence - shut down the games development and focus on B2B.

<--not a crymod fanboy but did enjoy Crysis and Warhead for what they were. Great looking, fun to play shooters.

Admittedly...
Great looking? Yes. Fun to play? Yes, to a certain extent and Warhead significantly more than the original Crysis.
I suppose the level of frustration depends on the point at which one bought the game - had I bought Crysis and Warhead in one of those recent sales where they basically went out for ~10 USD/EUR, I'd feel different as well, but I bought both games on release and absolutely don't think they were worth the investment.

i enjoyed the single player crysis and the multiplayer. would have been nice if there'd been more game modes as i am burnt out on it now. it's just different from normal shooters, i would have liked the mp as much as cod if it had been structured a bit differently- but crytek is mostly focused on their single player campaigns i think, and both were very enjoyable games to play to me

The Huntress server is the one I have best connection to (I don't really enjoy the 1mil c-bill ToS mode though)

This is once a week (ie sandbox sunday) so I'm sure you can live with it :p

I actually like your sandbox sundays, don't stop !

they seemed to be more worried about making the game look good then the actual SP/MP but thats just my opinion.. found the SP boring as heck.. there wasnt any real skill involved in it.. spent more time looking around the scenery.. ill admit the game looks good but it really wasnt much of a game.. felt more like benchmark software with the vague form of a FPS in it that could of been a heck of a lot better then it actually was.. at least in crysis wars it looked like they made an attempt to do a better job in the SP/MP but still was lacking a lot..

Yeah, I liked the SP at first, but after you figure out the AI's weaknesses, it's pretty easy
Examples:
- Going through most of the game simply by turning invisible, grabbing a guy and throwing him at his friends. Then beating them to death before they get up (Instakill if you got strength mode, so you can skip this part) Then turn invisible again, and repeat.
- Turning invis, lining up a headshot, switching to armor mode, firing, going invis again, repeat.

For me, the enemies extreme blindness to invisibility even at ridiculously close range was the games main flaw :-\
