Had 2 crashed today, first time I had to reboot the computer as no matter waht I did, I would not get into windows and shut it down.
The screen showed only the game. "Alt+Tab", "Alt+F4", "Ctrl+Alt+Del", I tried all of those but the game image overrode all.
If Ctrl+Alt+Del did work (the task manager appears in the taskbar), but you simply couldn't use the window, you might want to try this:

Blindly type:
Win+R
cmd<enter>
Alt+Enter
(at this point, the fullscreen console should take over the crysis display, but it shouldn't matter as long as crysis doesn't intercept inputs)
taskkill /im crysis.exe<enter>

That procedure spared me a few unnecessary reboots.

Reading a post in the general forums a thought ocurred to me.
If you open the console window and then join a match, you will see a few error messages scroll across the screen.
I just wonder if any of these errors, or perhaps others around the time of a CTD coule be the cause of the problem?

Maybe its not something the player does, but rather an issue with the client itself?

Just crashed again. But I was all stationary, not moving at all.

I was in a Puma with two PPCs and two flamers. Map was Frostbite amd I was engaging an enemy owens over about 750 meters. The first PPC hit, and just when I wanted to put the second in his cockpit I CTD.
I was not touching my keyboard, at least not pushing any keys. Just slightly moving my mouse and tapping the left mouse button.

I'm really starting to get the impression that these crashes are completely random.
I played a match of 80 minutes with no CTD now.
I was swapping between mech and ASF.

Yesterday playing on -AM- Clan Server, I had 3 CTDs during one match on Mirage.

1st time in a light mech (dont remember name, was the one with 2 LBL)
2nd time I was in a tank (Huit Prime, With the UAC2/5 guns)
3rd time I was in a LT

All 3 times I was not using the keyboard in any way, and was actually shooting at an opponent at the time of the CTDs.
They also ocurred in rather rapid succession with the first one around 20-30 minutes into the match.

I very rarely CTD anymore but occasionally I get the network interruption icon in my HUD and eventually my connection to the server times out. When viewing the server browser list immediately after the network crash, I see the server I was connected to is no longer in the browser list.

That is probably the server crashing, restarting or being taken down for some reason.
Thats not related to CTDs.

I have noticed though that If I have a high rank I seem to loose 2 ranks if I get a CTD.

You are playing a game on a machine, "thinking" by "0"s and "1"s. There HAS to be a reason, or many of them. Just because we do not see/understand them, does not mean there is a reason behind it all.

I dont know what is going on here, but I have noticed an increase in these CTDs ever since 0.2.0.
When I get a CTD these days, half the time I get multiple crashes of different kinds before I and again able to actually reconnect to the last played game.

I can get as far as to the team selection screen before the game crashes again, 3-4 times in a row after a CTD before I can get back in.
When I do get a CTD it seems to happen after about 20-30 minutes after me joining a game.

As I am writing this I have just gotten a CTD 5 times in a row after playing on the RUS MWLL #1 open server.
I have now given up trying to rejoin the match as each time I get to spectator mode and then I get a CTD.

I have tried to reboot my computer, I have run defrag, virus and spyware scans, only thing I have not done is format my HD and reinstall.
I will not be doing that unless I have no other choice, as its too time consuming having to fiddle with installing my OS, drivers and everything else I need just to use my computer for my day to day business.

The most frustrating part is that I was actually doing great for once. Normally I'm lucky if I can get to a 80k rank, and have enough Cbills for repairs and ammo.
This time I had 132k when I bought a Huit and ammo for going AA.
I had just gotten into the field taking the right exit from the Clan base on Clearcut and was just about to start shooting when I got CTD.
I was hoping to get enough money to try out a Shiva C.

More often than not, just before I get a CTD, my computer starts reading my crysis disc in the drive as if its searching for something there, and when it cant find it, it exits the game.
This is the only game I have this problem with, and I have never in my 15 years of gaming had any game cause me this much trouble, even for a beta.

Clearcut seems to be especially bad when it comes to CTDs.
If I get a CTD when playing on that map I am never able to get back in.
No matter how many times I try I always CTD when trying to get back on again when that map is running.
And It always happen in spectator mode before I even have a chance to choose a team.
I notice and extremely low FPS, my guess would be less than 1 FPS as it can take several seconds from I move the mouse to the camera moves.

This is usually on the RUS MWLL #1 | Open server, as I have not seen any other servers running that map with anyone playing on it.
I cant tell if its an issue with the client or the server, but I can tell that the CTDs has become more frequent.

Just reformat at this point.  Yes it maybe time consuming, but there's nothing quite like a fresh system to solve odd problems.

Clearcut is always more cpu intensive as it's calculating all the trees destroyed

I honestly have my doubts about the efectiveness of it, but I can give it a try.
Done it before and the effect of it has been minimal at best.

If nothing else we'd rule out anything that might be running in the background as you'd be running from a clean slate.

True, just need to find all my discs.
Win, drivers, Antivirus/firewall and a couple others I need for installation.
I always install my antivirus/firewall program before I install my network drivers so that I at least have some protection against malicious software once I get my net up and running.
