It'll likly take a couple of days to defrag it anyway.  These HDs are so big now a days, but the defrag programs have never adapted to do the job faster.
Upgrade to Windows 7.  It will auto-defrag for you.

If a HD is empty there's nothing to defrag :p

Well I wanted to connect to Mechwars and it CTD right after selecting the team. I could not even get to choose the spawn. This happened twice, when I decided NOT to force DX9, just to see if something changes. And in fact I was able to play about 30 minutes before the game crashed again. I was in Puma prime, fighting first a Catapult with arrows, which died fast. Then a puma tried to distract me from the pilot, without success btw :)
We threw some flamers and PPCs at eachother when a CTD decided the outcome of this match.
Map was Frostbyte.

And could please someone describe how to get this logs loggin anything. I would very much like to help you find the source of this crashes, cause it happens a lot to me, and it sucks. In a bad way.

OK, my new HDD has been installed, currently installing my audio drivers, once that is done I will update windows to SP3.
After that I'll install Crysis and MWLL and then we will see what happens.
Hope it will help, but I'm still skeptical.

Finally got everything installed and working properly.
This is why I hate reinstalling windows, something always goes wrong during the installation process.
Usually when I install drivers and such.
This time things borked up twice before I finally got it working.

First time:
After installing some drivers, I had to reboot that is normal.
After the BOIS screen my screen went black and no more happened for several minutes.
After trying to reboot twice more with the same result, and trying to run a repair of windows with the disc I was forced to reformat and reinstall everything.

Second time:
After installing some drivers my system suddenly decided that it wanted to go into a reboot loop.
Every single time about 2-3 minutes after windows started up, the computer would just reboot again all on its own.
This in turn forced me to once more start the installation from t he start.

I finally got things running now, and crysis installed.
I just have to download the patches and MWLL again as I forgot to save those files before putting in my new HDD.
And I simply cba with booting up my old HD just to recover a few files I can download in 15-30 minutes.I have no idea what went wrong the first 2 times,I never do when it happens, as it usually happens during the installation of my drivers or antivirus/firewall software.

As I thought, new HDD and fresh install of everything and the CTDs are as frequent as before.
And they appear completely random.

After acquiring a utility to monitor the heat of my GPU, I have noticed it going quite high on some maps.
On marshes today I noticed the temp was up to 90 degrees.
And this was with my computer case open.

Seeing as I do not have my GPU overclocked could my GPU running this hot be a reason for the CTDs?

No, unless Novacats have insufficient heat management that overheats the GPU too.

What does the heat management of the novacat has to do with my GPU heat and CTDs?
I know the novacat is a CTD issue, but dont see the relevance since I get CTDs no matter if there are novacats around or not.

It was a joke...

Anyway, if novacats are not the cause of your problem then HW or driver problems are the most likely cause. You should verify if all the fans in your PC work correctly then try to install more recent drivers. You may also have a problem with the internal power supply.

I didnt get that then. :P
Well I think the reason for the GPU heat may be because I have very few expansion slots.
And as it is not my sound card is slotted right next to mu GPU card, leaving no space left for the fan to vent to.
You cant even get a finger between the fan and the sound card
I honestly havent noticed this before, and will get a new MB with more expansion slots to sort out that problem.
