Can narcs be destroyed by AMS and flamers?

Can Arrow IV's be destroyed with lasers/other weapons?

I ask because one time someone shot an Arrow IV at me, and my AMS wasn't taking it down. So just before it hit me, I fired my L@Z0rZ at it, and it exploded just before it hit me. Was it luck? Or can you shoot down Arrow IV's?
I didn't shoot at the next Arrow IV (for comparison), and it hit me in tha faise :o

Also, there have been multiple occasions where i shoot a narc at a stationary/slowly moving target, and it gets destroyed. most of the time this happens against enemies with AMS, but one time a guy sprayed flamers at my narc and it dieded :(

Ordinary weaponsfire should not affect either Arrows or any other missiles (narc included).
This is my experience and I seem to recall devs stating that making it so you can shoot down missiles was not feasible with the engine.

I would put it up to pure chance.

/Merf - AMS work for others too. Clustered mechs benefit from each others AMS.

LAMS is configured to try and shoot down Arrow IV.  Whether they succeed or not depends upon their prior focus (shooting at other missiles) and if enough damage is applied before impact.
 
LAMS do not work against NARC missiles.

Yeah, I've had this happen to me before, but it's almost definitely your AMS at work.

Arrow IV have no health or physics so that is very unlikely.

I belive what he says is that if your AMS shoots down one arrow, the explosion from the arrow it shot down blows up the arrow next to it.

Fixed my post ;)

So far I have only seen one Arrow IV blowing up at a time, not 2. Recently seen on Mirage when Arrow IV were used for some fun.

I have fired two arrows slightly out of time of each other and at same time, and never have both gotten destroyed by AMS. If the first pops the second always hits. In fact sometimes the AMS gets confused with two arrows, and tries to shoot both instead of just one, and thus both missles hit instead of one ^^.

On a side note, can attached NARCs be removed by subsequent damage etc?  I've been seeing a lot of very short duration NARCs lately - I'll hit a mech, get the "hit" sound, and see the beacon overlay, but the beacon seems to last only ten to fifteen seconds.  It seems to mostly occur when the mech is under fire, but the beacon is definitely disappearing before the mech is destroyed.  Attached to a limb that gets blown off maybe?

I seem to remember that in .2.0, the NARCs would stay for their whole duration even if the mech they were attached to blows up... Can someone confirm that in .3.0 they are being removed if the mech dies?

If you're good you can dodge arrows with jumpjets...just have to keep your eyes open, they turn and come back if they miss.
