Website problems
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:02:18 PM »
Hey its wolfcub I had to make a new account because it said my other one didn't exist when I did password recovery yet it must have existed when I tried registering with it.I was forced to use a new email and username. The problem when I login is the browser goes white and stays white and the little status bar says Done at the bottom. So I don't know whats wrong with it.Any help would be nice,I wana get to my old posts so I can finish what I was doing.

Your old account still exists, but does not belong to any dev user groups (apprentice or full dev).

As I don't know the reasons for that, I just can't mess around with the permissions of your old account. Sorry.

About the browser window staying white... no idea. Could be anything and nothing. Which browser does it occur with? Did you try logging in with a different browser?

I got a little stitching problem with both IE and FF... both flickers heavely  at periods when I´m in this site??? and sometimes I loose all text written when changing into Preview or Post! Why?
The Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?
Pinky: I think so Brain, but if Jimmy cracked corn, and no one cares, why does he keep doing it?

The flickering might result from the ads not being completely loaded, but I'm not entirely sure.

Could you describe the lost text problem a bit more, please? If the text is gone when you preview or post after just typing for quite a while, it might be that your session timed out - the forum will not allow you to post with a timed out session.

I think AOP is right about the ads, if you have any sort of ad blocked sometimes it causes this. We are very sorry that the ads have to be there but the website is getting pretty expensive and we have to offset the cost somehow.

Have you considered initiating a donation system to help offset to costs?

The adds aren't so bad. I too had to create a new account with a different name and e-mail address. The "Send new Password" never sent a new password and I only received one of the newsletter e-mails.
Where there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

When did you subscribe to the newsletters and did it ever send you a confirmation? Also it may get thrown into junk so check there too.
