Got me a joystick and need some help
« on: July 15, 2010, 08:44:52 PM »
I can't afford to get that x52 joystick/throddle kit but i did happen to dig up an old joystick out of my closet. I got the thing running and mapped out the way i like it. It's the Saitek Cyborg evo force(a joystick/throddle on in one unit).

I am having only two issues with it and as soon as i figure out how to fix them then i'll be able to start using it while flying instead of a mouse.

1. I can't get the rudder to work. I open up the control panel for the joystick and it shows the rudder working just fine.(rudder control on joystick is twisting the stick left/right). Until i fix this problem i'm using the "a" and "b" button.

2. I found out how to adjust the sensitivity setting and after doing some tweaking, i got the sensitivity just right(while practicing on the mirage map). But when i joined another server that was using sandblasted, the sensitivity on my joystick went all the way up...I minimized the game and turned the sensitivity down but it didn't change(like it did on mirage). And then i turned the sensitivity ALL THE WAY DOWN, then the joystick didn't work ingame. So in other words, the sensitivity is either TOO much or TOO little.

Anybody know methods on how to tweak the sensitivity settings? Also, is there a way to get my rudder to work ingame?

1. the twist rudder is usually defined as Z rotation axis
2. use the joystick settings tab, and changes can only be made when crysis is closed

ok, i got the sensitivity issue fixed.

Now i just got to get the rudder controll to work. I found the Z axis and tweaked with the settings but it seems that no matter what i do the rudder isn't working in the game.

I messed with my joystick's profile editor and control panel to see if the rudder control is just broken or something and according to my control panel the rudder control is working just fine. Even in the joystick test window for MWLL it shows the Z axis working.

Until i figure this out i'll just continue using my a and d keys for rudder. Any ideas?

maybe its not listed as the Z rotation like mine is, perhaps its listed as Z axis, assuming your throttle isn't Z axis (slider perhaps?)

You sure its Z axis and not Z rotation?
On my stick its Z rotation thats the rudder, and Z axis are the throttle.
