Technical Support Request
« on: July 16, 2010, 03:41:36 AM »
Hello all. This is my first post and sadly it is one asking for help on getting this mod to work. I have been following this mod for a while and I am really looking forward to testing it out.

Here is what I have done so far:

I have windows Vista OS
I have crysis installed with 1.2 patch and 1.2.1 hotfix

I downloaded MWLL 0.3.0 with 0.3.2 patch

I loaded crysis as normal and had some issues with the graphic settings (mouse did not line up with what was highlighted on option screen)

the crysis main menu had what appeared to be the version in the bottom right corner and read [1.1.1.6115] or something very close

I loaded the MWLL mod from the crysis mod section.

It opened the MWLL screen and popped up with an error that read. MWLL has altered files. please revert them back to the original. or something very close. the only button the game would then let me press had "_@bin" I believe.

Any advice or help or links to anything i might have missed while reading through this forum would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much

You have to run MWLL from the MWLL shortcut, NOT by running Crysis.

What Capper said. Also, make sure you patched with the CLIENT 0.3.2 files, not the SERVER 0.3.2 files.

If you have never installed MWLL before...
... Install 0.3.0 via the full installation package (requires a clean install, remove any existing /mwll folder first)

Assuming You Already Have 0.3.0 Installed...
... Install 0.3.1 via patch updater
and then
... Install 0.3.2 via patch updater

Assuming You Already Have 0.3.1 Installed...
... Install 0.3.2 via patch updater

The 0.3.2 patch is non-inclusive of the changes in 0.3.1, so those players who are patching up from 0.3.0 (where ya' been under a rock?) will need to install BOTH 0.3.1 and then 0.3.2

From this point forward, you will be able to run the auto-updater client to pull incremental changes as we make them available.

As the other have said you need to also run the mod from the MWLL launcher icon and not from crysis.

Also make sure you have the 3.0 .net framework installed

as well as the latest Direct X runtimes

the crysis main menu had what appeared to be the version in the bottom right corner and read [1.1.1.6115] or something very close

Please verify that, because that version number would not be Crysis 1.2.1:
1.2 = 1.1.1.6115
1.2.1 = 1.1.1.6156

Good Morning again. Thank you very much for the replies.

I just confirmed that the bottom right reads 1.1.1.6115.
I am going to go back and reinstall everything in this order and launch from the MWLL shortcut not crysis

Crysis
1.2
1.2.1
MWLL 0.3.0
MWLL 0.3.1
MWLL 0.3.2
I will also check and make sure I have the 3.0 .net framework installed
as well as the latest Direct X runtimes

Thanks guys. I will report back later this afternoon.

I installed 1.2 then 1.2.1 and it still showed 1.1.1.6115.  I tried to then install the 1.2.1 hotfix again and it told me I had to patch it to 1.2 first.    :o  Maybe the game just hates me. Would having the game folder not on C: mess with my setup?

mine is on a different partition and it works fine. sounds to me like you're doing things right. was already said above but just incase i'll say how i did it

Crysis installed
1.2
1.21

then mwll

0.3.0
0.3.1
0.3.2

EDIT- also even if your dirextx and your netframework weren't up to date i'm fairly certain it would still install fine. i know it's a bitch but you may want to start from fresh install again- maybe you accidently skipped a step somewhere or it screwed up while installing one of the patches. and make sure you are getting your downloads from mwlldownload.com . you may have gotten a corrupt file or something

The Hotfix may have been corrupted causing your 1.2 Patch to be screwed up.

You may want to try and install Patch 1.2 again and see if the Hotfix 1.21 is able to be installed. Also download the patches from Crymod.

1.1.1.6115 is Crysis Patch 1.2
1.1.1.6156 is Crysis Hotfix 1.21

I had both the crysis 1.2 and 1.2.1 take ages for me to get going.
When I started the patchers it sat there saying the program was not responding for 2-3 minutes before it finally decided to go on with the patching.
Same when the patching was done and I was trying to hit the "finish/complete" button, it sat thre for ages saying it was not responding before I could finally do it.

Just thinking that maybe there are some similar issues that are causing trouble for you?

Ofc just having some patience when trying to patch crysis was all that was needed as it just to ages to respond.

This is well known problem for people with a slow PC, or slow HDD....I install them in a few seconds with my SSD, no waiting at all..... But yes patience is a virtue :D
