I've been trying for 2 days now to get this to work. I have gotten crysis trial to work, but not MWLL.
I'm about ready to give up.
where do i extract the zip file?
what destination folder do i install MWLL into.
Do i still need gamespy comrade installed?

could it be that the installer makes 2 MWLL folders??
Title: Re: MWLL 0.7.1 Complete Installer

what a pain in the a**.

I merged the 2 MWLL folders and got the launcher to work.

it works fine now.
for some reason the installer was making a MWLL folder within a MWLL folder as seen in the pics by default

If you have further problems launching the mod, I can see why. It created the mod folder with this name, "MWLL". However if I'm not wrong, it needs to be in lowercase, "mwll". If you're unable to join a server or see a funky menu with strings missing, its because of that.

And you don't need Gamespy Comrade, feel free to uninstall it. ;)

i got it to work, but now i have other problems, that weren't there on earlier patches, like not being able to aim with the mechs. the twist torso doesn't work on mechs, only tanks and battlearmor.

With the changes in the economy, getting enough cbills for aircraft through ranking up shouldn't be too much of a problem, even if you end up dieing pretty quickly. cl_free_reticle_independent=1(or you could type cl_free in console and press tab and it'll fill the rest of the command for you, just add the 1 afterwards) should fix the issues with joysticks, d-pads etc. It has to do with the reticle being pulled towards the center or sth.

Kinda off topic, but the starter hovers are some damn good assets, most doing fine even if you join late.

ok, got it to work, just pasted that into the autoexec file.

Note that the new cash / scoring system gives you a +20% for each weight class above your own you are shooting.  Taking an Uller B out and shooting up a medium or heavy will get you into 50k spawn class in literally seconds.  Get a Cougar F and repeat, living a little longer, and you'll be at 60k.  If you're good at aero ask for money and you'll get it usually.

Hi Iron__Eagle, Sorry I wasn't around to answer your question yesterday, that is indeed a strange problem.  But I think I might know what caused it (I think I messed up the paths on the machine I was testing it on!), I'll hopefully fix it tonight and add an updated version (sorry hosts)

As for the reticule issue,  I think the default actionmap for the default profile should have some of the new free reticule settings

Also the newest version of the Actionmapper can change these values without having to directly edit the xml.

I tried installing this off a thumb drive/then off the hard-drive with thumb drive connected/and then off hard drive without thumb drive attached and it started to give me an error message similar to "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk#\DR#."  Where number was either 3 or 4(but I don't think the exact number matters).  The first install caused the error every system start up until I fiddled around in disk management. The second/third install only gave it while running the game.  So I think your installer might be trying to reference something on your computer(but it definitely was annoying).

Other problems I have seen though include:

The aforementioned double MWLL folders. (\Mods\MWLL\MWLL\Stuff Here) - Second install I corrected it.
And on initial run sound cut out though I reloaded and it worked.
I tested the Cryhammer Utility and it couldn't tell if I patched to 1,5 (I have disc version).
and If you click repair build in the launcher it thinks I have an old build of MWLL installed.

I'm going to try the regular method now.   :(  I was just hoping for an easy one time install deal with this supposedly being the final build oh well.  I'll get back after the normal install goes and see what happens.

Hopefully the updated build has fixed paths and works.

Sorry to hear you are having problems

I'll try and answer all your issues:
"Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk#\DR#." - I have this issue intermittently when loading a map (work around by repeatedly clicking "try again") and I have heard others get the same problem.  I did not copy the game files from my working install so I can't of replicated this problem in the installer.

"(\Mods\MWLL\MWLL\Stuff Here)" - Known issue, will be fixed shortly

"And on initial run sound cut out though I reloaded and it worked." - No idea, but I am guessing it is not to do with the installer

"I tested the Cryhammer Utility and it couldn't tell if I patched to 1,5 (I have disc version)." - Doubt this is an issue with the installer. ask cryhammer devs about that - http://forum.mechlivinglegends.net/index.php?topic=17421.0

"and If you click repair build in the launcher it thinks I have an old build of MWLL installed." - Ill test this (how does the launcher check if you have an old build?)

Repair build appears broken for now, likely wasn't updated to take account the new patch.

About CryHammer, maybe it was the dash issue again? I'd had to take a look at a screenshot of his result.

Sweet, so the only confirmed problem is that issue with the extra MWLL directory then?

I'll fix that then and upload the new version soon.  BTW does anyone else experience the "No Disk" error, or is it just me and "Who Knows?"
Title: Re: MWLL 0.7.1 Complete Installer
Post by: Who Knows? on February 19, 2013, 10:53:25 PM
Okay, looks like the install path is the only problem then.

I retried cryhammer and it worked fine once I tried from a clean run.(I selected my folder rather than auto-path.)

I tried the regular install method(I.E. .60 and auto-update with 4 patches) and the disk not found error is still present.  Looks like its been a nagging problem for a while: http://forum.mechlivinglegends.net/index.php?topic=11761.0

I think I've always had the error pop-up on SA_Jungle and never on TSA_Marshes, but then again watch me keep trying and it do just the opposite at one point . . .(oh the joys of troubleshooting intermittent problems) :P
Title: Re: MWLL 0.7.1 Complete Installer
Post by: Iron__Eagle on February 20, 2013, 11:08:52 AM
good to note that a few times the download failed, but only became apparent when trying to run the installer or unzipping the file. It would give me some weird error messages, wish i had printed screen then..  It seems that it was all related to some issue with the download itself. considering it takes a long while to download, it must of been an intermitent loss of internet connection or something similar.

I only tried once to install the crysis/MWLL combined installer and it failed for whatever reason. I decided to do the seperated download because I wanted to be able to go into the crysis wars options menu to change the gamepad pitch invertion, since the action mapper invert for the vtol/aero doesn't seem to work.

for some reason, after changing the invertion in crysis, MWLL was bypassing the mapped keys from the action mapper and using the ones from crysis. Opening the actionmapper and saving the file after changing the invertion in crysis wars fixed this.

You also have the option of inverting pitch / yaw / roll for aero and/or vtol through console settings. This means you can put the commands in an autoexec.cfg file, and apply it automatically at game launch.

Acceptable values are 0 and 1
v_invertAeroPitchControl =
v_invertAeroYawControl =
v_invertAeroRollControl =
v_invertVTOLPitchControl =
v_invertVTOLYawControl =
v_invertVTOLRollControl =

(edit: added commands)

Whoever the douchebag was who was opposing base raping as a BA and killing new players as they spawn ought to be mighty ashamed of their actions.  Hopefully Iron__Eagle understands that there are jackasses everywhere and give the game another shot, but it's entirely possible he continued with his proclaimed course of uninstalling.

So, that was awesome whomever, give yourself a mighty good pat on the back for that one.

Okay, it's obviously uncool to have such a thing happen to you, and whomever did is bad and should feel bad for being such a prick in a low playerbase game such as this, but to honestly uninstall over such a poor experience? I understand quitting, maybe not touching the game in like a week or so, but to just drop the entire game over one poor experience? I mean, welcome to the internet bud. There's gonna be dickbags everywhere.

I'm certainly not saying any kind of the aforementioned behavior should be allowed, accepted or tolerated in any way, but you could perhaps stick close to your name and 'steel' yourself against a few unsavory situations such as these. Unless you truly didn't enjoy the rest of the game enough to keep playing period.

I've had the same type of troll-tastic behaviour before, and rage quit for an hour or more.  But hey, you log in later and the asshole is gone!  Amazing how that works. Yeah, thicker skin is advisable. Cause someone is gonna be a troll / dickhead etc in any game.

I haven't been playing recently, so it wasn't me. But uh... depends on the base. If it's a capturable base, there's nothing wrong with that. Why should a BA wait for you to buy and get into that Huit Prime, Rifleman, or Black Lanner with 6 MGuns so you can easily kill him? I guess if he somehow manages to almost kill you, he should wait while you make repairs and power up again...? Nobody thinks twice about spawn-killing a BA who is still buying weapons in a BA bunker (and there are no more loadouts, so it's gonna happen), so why should a BA let mechs and vehicles ready up and train their reticules on him behind walls for him to peek out?

Now if it was the primary spawn, and it wasn't a map where the primary spawn is capturable, and he is inside the spawn area killing you, sure it might be right to get mad at it (although at some point, everyone HAS to try it once, if only for a few minutes). If he kills you with his mpPPC from outside the base defenses as you are getting into your mech, that's just too funny and 1337 to be mad at. Trust me. :D

Keep in mind that this strategy is super-easy to defend against. A BA can only carry 5 Inferno Charges, and after that he'll have to run back to an APC or another base. And if you know he's there, just immediately run after spawning to get him to whiff on his Inferno Charge/laser. YOU can buy Inferno Charges, then. And everyone spawns with the best BA-killing weapon, so you could always just... you know... shoot him.

It was inside main base, non-capturable, on TSA Cloud Cobra.  My guess is that the overwhelmingly vast majority of people do NOT immediately jump to the side while scanning for enemy BA base raping against the spirit of the rules, but rather pull up the build menu to buy something.

While spawn camping, it's pretty easy to predict where your "enemy" is going to spawn at, since the spawn locations are fixed.  So it's not terribly hard to get positioned such that as soon as they spawn you murder them.

The only times I've actually experienced people spawn raping, this is the behavior that was used.

I just tried to reinstall for the 5Th time and still it is showing that I do not have all the proper dl's even though I do. I did the 1.5 update NP then the O.6.0 then the 0.6.1 to 0.7.0 to 0.7.1 and still it will not launch it just crashes even when I wipe everything clean from the mod folder. I tried the separate full 7.1 install I hit the play button on the launcher and Crash wth? I screwed up and removed the old install a few months ago because I thought MWLL was dead since that piece of Crap MWO had screwed us here. Is there anyway to get this to work or is MWLL dead now?

Shouldn't that be automatic? I mean, the launcher should automatically detect if you need these packages, and ask you to install them if you need them...  :-\ or I guess so at least.

Know that in the past it solved a specific problem. Launcher does check for them, but don't know at what moment (every startup, on installing/downloading?). I suspect it was on the install/download phase, which with the complete installer, may not happen now.

Yes, I wiped everything again, I have my copy of Crysis Warhead and still in box with key number. Heh, it must be Crysis Wars, not Warhead...
Use CJW all-in-one installer (link in guide)...don't install the game from the original copy. You will be able to put your CDkey in the install wizard. It's not needed anymore, though, since CDKey auth master server is offline ;)

I am reloading MWLL currently and Gremlich and some others may join us we both saw that MWO was a screwed up pile-o-crap and have returned to the "Best Damn Mechwarrior Game Ever!"
I realised that I had the full package of Crysis on Steam I downloaded the Warhead and I patched 1.5 and I am now working on the 7.1 so far all seems to be working. :)
I went I went to dl mod installer I just erased one of the\MWLL and then downloaded. it went into the right file on its own and now is working just need active server addresses so I can join in on the fun!
