We are always looking for mature veterans and newbies alike who play MWLL a little more regularly and are interested in organised games. Born from the fires of the 1st Succession War, the 12th Vegan Rangers was formed by the deposed Duke of Verde Lawrence Helmund Nelson as a mercenary company with the goal to retake his home and birthright from his usurpers. Inspired by the legendary Loran's Rangers who protected the burgeoning trade routes between Vega and Terra during the exodus period, Nelson's charisma and sense of duty gained the admiration of similar dispossessed nobles, bringing many elite MechWarriors and their BattleMechs under his banner. After returning to Verde and vanquishing his usurpers, Nelson released the 12th Vegan Rangers from his direct control, going on to become the Inner Sphere's largest and most elite mercenary unit until the rise of the Kell Hounds and Wolf's Dragoons.
After securing some recognition fighting for the Federated Suns and the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2nd Succession War, the 12th Vegan Rangers most famous involvement was during the 3rd Succession War in the Galtor Campaign. In an attempted gambit by Hanse Davion to break the stalemate on the Combine border with a fake Star League cache as a lure, the Davion defenders including the Vegan Rangers Alpha Regiment quickly became outnumbered after a real cache was discovered. Only through the tenacity of Alpha Regiment were the defenders able to withstand the Combine siege until reinforcements arrived. From that day forward, Hanse Davion and his successors would ensure that they would always be the 12th Vegan Rangers highest bidders, offering large sums of C-Bills, generous salvage rights and access to exclusive lostech to keep the Rangers in their employ.
The 12th Vegan Rangers would go on to form a component of Hanse Davion's devastating spearhead into Capellan territory during the 4th Succession War, and would remain there as a garrison force while Federated Commonwealth units were pulled out to fight against the invading Clans. The Rangers would be eventually defeated in Operation Guerrero in a coordinated attack by Capellan forces, disallowing the Ranger's regiments to reinforce each other. After retreating and resupplying themselves, Victor Steiner-Davion would call upon the Rangers again to aid in the FedCom Civil War, and were deployed again to familiar battlegrounds along the Capellan March to subdue Commonwealth regiments threatening to join the Lyran Alliance.
