Whether you belive it or not, using 3rd person does give in unfair advantage over people in 1st person. If 3rd person was availible, regardless of you liked it or not everyone would use it because it's a straight up upgrade.

RAVEN This is not a 'previous mechwarrior' game, this is MW:LL. You can disagree on the opposite point of views if you want. But the consensus from from players and Devs is that 3rd person is a fantasy.

Halite By the way when the word "previous" is used I am referring to other MechWarrior games that came out in the past why would I call this MechWarrior Living Legends a previous game that is the stupidest thing I've ever read.

In a contradiction to my earlier statement from being the last post. The rest of the discussion was good until I made that post which I should've deleted it sooner because what I said didn't come out right at all which eliminated the entire point of what I was trying to say which is my fault sorry guys.

If you read over the old forum archives, i'm sure there are a few posts in there requesting the same.

MWLL is aimed at the simulation crowd, and the unrealistic addition of 3rd person mode would violate that principle, as well as allowing corner peeking, hill peeking, and other arcadey traits the game is built to avoid.

Ressk I get the point because of the realism but there are also fans of MechWarrior that still want to play third person despite this so that is why I am hoping the developers will at least understand that and one day make a third person server for those that want to play this in third person and have a first person server for those that want to play in first person only.

Ressk MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries I do not think it will include driving tanks, infantry, and pilotable aircraft like MechWarrior Living Legends does all though I may be wrong about this.

Plenty of people had a problem with 3rd person being available in the previous games. That's why there were a plethora of servers that had the option disabled.

I think I can safely speak for the rest of the team here by saying there are no plans at this stage (or even ideas towards that end) to include a 3rd person view. I'm sorry that isn't the answer you were looking for, but it is something that was decided upon a long time ago and there has never been a valid enough reason given towards it's inclusion.

Bill I wasn't specific when I said what I said. No one protested against the developers of the original games against the fact that third person shooter is enabled and besides someone here has to suggest third person should be enabled and I am sure I am not the only one that has done so. But I will leave this post open and hopefully others will one day agree with this.

It was asked before with the old devs, guess what? They emphatically said no as well. It also doesn't matter if anyone agrees with you, it's simply not going to happen.

Bill Sounds like you're salty because I even made the suggestion in the first place, I made this post because I just wanted to get the idea out there a little more and you don't seem to like it well tough crap, you can get salty all you want with that being said I do respect other peoples opinions but I also hope the developers will look at the third person camera idea with an open mind and with previous responses from DeimosEvotec and Star_Wraiths second response I am hopeful.

Now I don't really mind having to tell you this ad infinitum if that's what you really want? If not I'd suggest trying to come up with some other assets/features you'd be interested in seeing in MWLL. Otherwise this will become a rather dreary back and forth.

I am approaching it with an open mind. I'm trying to think of reasons of why we would want this, but all I can come up with is "one guy wants it". That doesn't justify investing the time and effort for something that is likely to remain optional and disregarded by most servers.
