Having connectivity issues
LowFire
Hi, so I've just recently decided to re-download MWLL a few days ago and I've been having some problems playing on servers.
After about 3 to 5 minutes of playing on a server, I suddenly get the "lost connection" symbol in the middle of the screen (The thing that looks like three computers connected together with a big red 'X' in the middle) and I can't control my mech or do anything. The game becomes completely unresponsive. When this happens, my game never recovers from it, so I end up having to leave the server and rejoin. Even after doing this, the same thing happens; after about 5 minutes of playing, I get the symbol again, the game becomes unresponsive and I have to leave and rejoin.
I've checked my ping during this and its always consistently around 50 - 60, so i'm not really lagging at all. Another thing I've noticed is that it only usually happens on servers with high player count.
I don't know anything about networking so I have no idea how to fix this problem. Any suggestions?

Try switching to another DNS. OpenDNS comes to mind. If this does not fix the issue, then the problem could be your router. But I didn't have this issue so you should consult the tech support on discord. I am sure they will be able to help you.

This isn't the DNS hijack problem, so a different DNS server won't help.
I think it's regular ol "red X". We've had some problems with that today, probably due to shoddy uplinks between your ISP and our datacenter. That should resolve itself after a few hours or days. If the problem persists: Do you see a pattern? e.g. it's more likely to happen the more players there are on the server?
LowFire
haarp Yeah pretty much. I haven't had this problem so far on servers with low population. Only on fuller servers.

Damn. That is an unfortunate problem some players are having with certain internet setups. It usually starts once the server population hits 18-20 players.
It seems that that modem is the problem. Zathrus had his problems disappear after buying a different brand. @Silvercraft is also suffering from it.
Zathrus: bought an Arris SB6183
Zathrus: not a single red x since
Zathrus: before... 19 players I disconnected with redx
Zathrus: avoid modems with "puma 6" chipset
LowFire
haarp If that's the case, then I'm in luck. We have recently just gotten a new modem, so maybe once we install it and get it setup, the problem will fix itself. I'm hoping really hard.

So I just got my new modem installed, tried to play a game today and i'm still having the problem. The game isn't really playable right now because of this, so i'm just going to wait until you guys get the net coding stuff figured out.
Sorry about that. I wish you guys the best of luck.

Like others have previous stated there is no universal solution for red-x problem.
In this case connection quality is more important than actual ping or connection speed.
You can still try different things such as:
Using server closest to your location, upgrading your modem/router, adjusting play hours to better match player numbers that let you have fun without red-x.

Based on more info from Zathrus, I've updated the Red X section in the troubleshooting guide here.
Pay attention to the modem you're using, apparently Intel Puma chipsets suck ass.
