Team Need Overlay

Don't know if this has been proposed or if possible to create an overlay to show your team's strength. At least for assisting in picking which vehicle/mech/etc, whenever I join a game or have to respawn I want to make sure I have the right role fit not just my comfy zone.

Sure, many times the response from the team is "brawler!" when what they need is a spotter running around with a NARC or that APC to sidle up to the LT and provide 'unlimited' ammo refreshes.

At minimum, I was thinking a grid of the team's current vehicle selection to know what is out on the field, weight class, and if any has a C3, BH, Tag/Narc sensors. If possible, one of the 4 roles could be assigned to each vehicle. The summary could just say how many brawlers on the field. Bonus points if a health status was there.

First we would need a good classification system that covers all assets
and second knowing what your team has doesn't always help you when you need to pick something that counters the enemy strategy.
So I don't know if it would be worth the time investment at this point.
I have thought about adding classifications to each asset to help seeing at a glance what each variants purpose is but I found that it's harder to find a good classification system than it looks like.
Knowing when APCs are useful is mostly about map knowledge, which bases have rearm/repair usually bases with repair but no rearm are good points for APCs.
APCs for LTs are only useful if the LT survives long enough to go through all its free tons of ammo, which is not usually the case.
Radar equipment of the team can be seen by looking at the map screen, C3 has a striped radar ring instead of a continuous one.
GECM assets have the red passive markers around them even if they are active and AECM has the blue bubble around them.
Vehicle Types can also be seen of the map screen and you can cycle through all friendly radar targets to see what vehicle they are though only without variant indication.

It's not as easy to use all this instead of some overlay but you can get a decent overview.
I still think team coordination is more important which would be helped by some kind of voip integration but that suggestion has been shot down by other people in the past.

If you can come up with a good classification system we could look into adding that into the buymenu.

DeimosEvotec What are the arguments against team VOIP? As long as you have a mute button per person available I can't see an issue. Discord and Teamspeak obviously can be used regardless but they rarely have everyone in game and often aren't broken up into the respective teams nor does it cover newbies or people simply not using those VOIP apps.

Valheru basically, from my understanding, the default crysis voice chat is very low quality so it's very hard to understand what is being said. as a result, co-ordination happens via third-party voice systems or text chat anyway, with the only users of the in-game system being those who don't know any better or are griefing. unfortunately it's one of those problems that will likely never be solved unless the developers get source code access, afaik.

Valheru I never considered using the crysis voip as it's really bad but 3rd party voips (mumble/ts/discord/vivox) can be integrated without crysis source code access. Mumble being the easiest as they provide an integration template that can be put in the our c++ code and just needs a few parameters passed along to determine where the player is located (server browser/ which server/ which team/maybe even position on the map).
The arguments against it are that we already have a discord and a community teamspeak so we don't need to integrate anything but in my experience there is only a tiny fraction of the players using them and usually players from both teams or even multiple servers in the same channel. It's not uncommon to have a full server going while the ts and discord voips are completely empty.

Just integrate the SJ TeamSpeak if it's an option and they're up for it. It's already used exclusively for voice chat for the game.
