Thread to discuss changes to current variants.

(haarp edit: please describe the current loadout of variants you want changed, not everybody knows all of them by heart)

I'll start off with some ideas of my own:

Daishi B (Widowmaker): Replace PPCs with ATM12HE. Leftover tonnes go to armour and heat sinks.
The Widowmaker can't ever use the PPCs because of its lack of heat sinks. Swapping them out for an ATM12HE would not only increase firepower but also make it more heat efficient.

Warhammer B: Replace Large Pulse Laser with PPC or (if the tonnage allows it) an AC10.
Having three screenshake-heavy direct-fire weapons with more or less the same range is neat.

Mk2 D: Replace Standard ATM with HE ATM.
I've heard multiple complaints that anything the Mk2 D can do, the Mad Cat E can do better and cooler. Replacing the Standards with HEs would make it the only asset in the game with two ATM12HE, and with Mk2 speed and jump jets it can bring those to bear quite well.

Vulture F: Replace LB5X and PPC with two ER Medium Lasers. Spare tonnes go to armour and heat sinks.
Let's be real, those backup weapons are kinda shite. Medium lasers are always good, and they're gonna help with heat efficiency so much.

Atlas D (Old Daddy): Take off the AMS, upgrade Medium Lasers to ER Medium Lasers, spare tonnage goes to heat sinks.
While this does unfortunately sacrifice the super aesthetic price that lets you buy it and full ammo at 105k and have 0 cbills left, the Atlas goes so slow that I feel it really benefits from the added 100 metres of reach the ER lasers would provide.

Bushwacker F: Replace ER PPC and LB5X with ER Large Laser and AC5, respectively. If the spare tonnage allows, upgrade ER Small Lasers to Medium Lasers, if not, spare tonnage goes to heat sinks and armour.
Having a PPC on an LRM asset is always annoying because so much of your firepower can't be used if the target is narced. Switching the LB5X for an AC5 keeps the range synergy of the two direct-fire weapons.

Rifleman A & G: Revert them back to how they were before 0.9.0

Atlas F: I've never been a big fan of the Atlas F, and I rarely see it used. I propose changing it entirely. 2 Large Pulse Lasers split between the arms, a Heavy PPC in the right torso and 2 SRM6s in the missile racks could be neat. Give it GECM to make it easier for it to get in range.

These are just my ideas and opinions, if any of you have any complaints or suggestions go ahead and post them below.

make the spare ammo an additional heat-sink (it uses DHS) instead.
1. I never lived with it to reload the AC10 (did just anyone?)
2. Let alone to reload the tBoolt-5
3. Mostly died of overheat (those laser battery is good for BBQ)

I really see little use if it's pinpoint LPL in the role it is (a main line twin AC10 brawler) - bring back it's MRM30 missile rack (instead the LPL and some heat sinks).
MRM aren't that bad at all, and bring quite a punch for the patient sharp shooter.
in the worst case- make it an t-bolt launcher?

fire-hound the rachammer already has an mrm30, we don't need another whammy with mrm30. I also feel like mrm30 doesn't sync well with ac10 and er mediums when compared to ppc or another ac10.

Don't touch my MKII D. I'm of the opinion that the MCE should change if there's some issue with the two rather than the MKII D.

Daishi B feels odd. I find it borderline unusable, but some people seem to like it so idk.

Vulture F, I'd really just swap the PPC with a second LBX5. Doesn't change too much, but helps the heat problem quite a bit while giving it something to poke with at 900m.

Atlas D: Price is directly tied to this mech's usefulness. If it becomes more expensive, it becomes less useful.

No comment on the rest off the top of my head.

Huits need a rework, most of them are just doing the same thing as other variants. I like the idea of them being a dedicated Arrow platform but most of the variants end up being too similar. Instead, turning the Huits into extremely focused Anti-something platforms is the way to go I think.

I cant pretend that I know how to fix this, but for example look at the F and E varients. The F is the classical AA platform for the huit, but with the release of the HAG/40, the E varient is just superior at that role. The Hag/40 also gives it the ability to make Assaults think twice about chasing it down, whereas 6UAC2s are laughable at a late stage in the game.

I dont know if its feasible tonnage wise, but changing the F to dual Hag/20s with 2 tons of ammo spare and maybe reducing the missle loadout to 2xERATM3 would make it excell at AA duties AND give it the ability to scare some heavies.

Aslo changing the E varient to something more attuned to Anti-Assault direct fire (Removing some missles and adding another CERPPC? Changing the CERPPC and a ATM9 to 2PPC?) would give the asset an identity.

Like I said, im not a tonnage man so I dont know if any of my suggestions are workable, I just know that the huit needs some love

I have only 1 sugestion.
Timber Wolf G has too many weapons.
5 diferent weapons sistem. I sugest removing the 4 SPL for 3 spare tons (to a total of 4 tons) and 1 DHSS

While it might look like a downgrade or a nerf due loss of firepower, you have to consider that;
its cofusing using 5 different weapons sistems as it is maping them,
even without the 4 SPL it still has respeactable firepower, 1 LBX20, 1 DSSRM 4 and 2 MHL is already hot and powerfull, and its 2 LBX5 can be used to harass, poke, and even get extra damage during a brawl.

With 4 spare tons you can chose to bring 1 ton for each weapon if you intend to overuse the LBX 5, or go with 2 tons for the DSSRM 4 and 2 for the LBX 20, that are big ammo eaters, or just go with 4 or 3 tons of LBX 20. They have 12 shots per ton and last about 72s.

I would rather sacrifice some of its brawling firepower for more staying power and thus being more usefull.

Chezzar the current NARC cougar is a beast though. Id be hesitant to change it myself.

A thor needs a UAC10 pronto.

Ressk I've been clamoring for a uac10, 2 er mediums, srm6 summoner with extra armour since I began playing MWLL, but I've heard some tasty rumours the summoner is getting a major rework soon so I didn't mention it in my original post.

Nah, it was with good reason we changed that variant. Now it resembles a Panther more than a silly Mini-Uziel.

Is nothing better than the mix loadout: for example - PPC + LRM + ballistic.

2PPCs is a weighty argument. Although it was still light mech and therefore easily killed - i.e. compromise.

Can be 2 light PPCs? or Snub-Nose PPCs? for notmix loadout.

If you strip all the arm armor off a solitare, along with slightly downsize the engine, you can stuff a HAG40 in there. This would totally be fair and balanced and would be a completely reasonable suggestion!
