PPC Effect Issues

I was doing some testing with PPCs last night to try to get a better understanding of how the EMP effects work (after reading their description on the wiki) and I'm just confused now.  I guess this is bugged, but it seemed that the PPC is never generating heat on enemy mechs when hit, and it seems very random when it will cause the EMP effect (the only noticeable effect I saw with this was that my map was scrambled when that red hexagon appeared).  I was testing on one of the TLL Matchbox servers with a friend.  It seemed shots to the legs caused the EMP effect 100% of the time, but torso shots almost never did after 100ish shots back and forth at each other (although they were causing damage normally).  Has the heat effect been removed?  I was playing on the swamp map (not sure if that would have had an affect on this).  What is the PPC emp effect supposed to do currently?

EMP effects are not implemented yet (properly). The scrambling of the PDA map is indeed the only effect currently. However, I did not know, that it is not caused 100% of the time.

Also PPCs deactivate nightvision of the hit player. Very annoying in the night. Very annoying.

Right, I hardly ever notice that, since I find Nightvision rather useless, even at night ;).

Right, I hardly ever notice that, since I find Nightvision rather useless, even at night ;).

Nightvision is great when you're trying to find the BA that is tagging you.
(TAG laser only shows in nightvision)

Agreed. I much prefer the original crysis NV we had back in 0.2.0

Well, once you hear the tag sound and look around, it's usually not hard to find the BA. Depends on the map though. Either way, I didn't have to use it yet for that.

Stuff like thermal/infrared vision would be pretty boss too.

That being said, I find it easier to locate BA durig nighttime with NV on. So it's not useless.
