FTL
« on: September 16, 2012, 04:39:40 PM »
Been having a lot of fun with this game. It's a spaceship management/exploration sim "roguelike", which, as far as I've been able to tell, means you're going to die. A lot.

Still, it's huge fun, and very skill based. There's always something I feel I could have done better when my poor ship/crew dies horribly.

Check it out.

Bought it Friday and it's fun as hell.
Couldn't stop playing for hours >_>

I've mostly played Easy mode so far to unlock some more ships, but even on Normal it's not all that hard if you know what you're doing.
I'd say it's definitely worth your money.
(If you're in the EU, you might want to buy from their website if you want a Steam key. They ask for 9$ right now, which is ~7, where as Steam does the usual 1$=1 conversion >_>)

So buy it :P

You can get it on their website (DRM free version or Steam key), over on gog.com, or via Steam if you like to pay a bit more ;)

I can't on a very small fixed income (full time carer) and I have a mortgage and am in the process of saving up to leave the country.

I know it's not a lot of cash, but I'm not dipping into my arguably tiny savings for something as minor as a video game  ;D

My glorious Khan (haha, he's a knobhead) has decided he'll get it for me next week. Friends are lovely things to have  8)

Had someone else not beaten me to it I would have bought you a copy Bill, that being said. Having lots of fun with the game, cheesed my way to victory today with a rock cruiser that one gun.... I just teleported my entire crew over the fun up all the boss' systems. Having lots of fun with the Federation cruiser as well, got to sector seven only using the siege beam and defense drones.
Vote Bill for multidimentional sex warlock 2013.

(full time carer)

Wait what? You care for people? More importantly, there are people crazy enough to let you take care of them or their relatives?
Ghiest: I suggest trying to control your forum torrettes with copious amounts of weed.

KingLeerUK: Right now playing puretech is like riding a bike without a seat; you're putting yourself through some unnecessary discomfort and everyone else on the trail is looking at you funny.

Bill: You're a massive gay. Let's bum.
Deathbane: Let's.

Oh no, it's not like striking the earth really.

It's actually pretty simple thus far in my experience and more about figuring out how to blow up bastards/plot a half decent route through the random sectoids.

I'm actually quite disappointed with the scope of it, but it's still very very fun etc.
