You mentioned people firing LRMs at you while brawling. Try running passive a bit more often; that'll help a bit at the start of the game, as long as you have good situational awareness. Also, most light mechs are fast enough to be able to dodge LRMs; it's just a matter of finding the right angle and speed/acceleration. Of course, the best strategy is to force the encounter someplace where you'll get decent cover.

except on manner variants like ryoken a
and our lord and saviour Vulture Prime.

To go back a bit on the topic: LRM's are equally dangerous to all other weapons on the battlefield, they are just a bit more common. Learn their very large weaknesses, and appreciate their strengths.

cLRMs and usual LRMs are two quite different beasts right now:

cLRM can be used as assault role weapons - in point blank brawling, or even tunnels (had "Yeoman", did it ;) )

LRMs have, OTOH, the pronounced arc that really helps them score the game on rolling hills or like terrain.

The ATMs have increased velocity in the last phase of flight (pre-impact booster) and two younger cousins - HE and ER ones.

all in all, the cLRM had a long due "face-lift" that made the Vulture an interesting mech again.

And our golden hour is yet to come (from confidential sources ;) )

There are no confidential sources promising a future golden hour.
don't bother sending me PMs, I probably won't be reading them in time.
