Network issues on large servers (20+ players)
« on: June 10, 2017, 09:16:45 PM »
I've been playing the game recently (Win7x64, 12GB RAM, HD7750, i5 750) and every single time a server goes above 20 players, the game throws up the red X connection symbol every 10 seconds or so, ruining the game for me because mechs will start running in circles and BA stops dead while the game tries to reconnect. I have no idea if this is a router problem (I saw another thread on this and I quite frankly don't want to call my ISP because one game is causing the issue) or just CryEngine netcode being bad, but it's starting to frustrate me because now it seems like everyone loves to flock to one server and it kills the experience for me, whereas a while back there was a max of maybe 12 players and everything felt stable. Is there any decent solution to this?

@Vitos:
Which router vs whitch?
@Zeether:
Once in a while there is a massive server dropout, more often than not, users seem to try out alternate servers with fewr users.
Note: some has to be the 1st one on any server, after only few minutes new players will usually join.

I had the very simplest router "D-Link 2500" , and I replaced it to a "Zuxel P660". Both simple routers, but I do not need another, since I have only the ADSL line for the Internet.

Default router settings. I did not try to change anything.

I have a new provider and a new Modem/router. And my Connection is very stable. (Before I was booted off and got connection losses very often.)
Watch "Save the Supers" you will get some laughs in.

Should I ever be listed at the top of my team, then we have a serious problem.
