Holy crap.

This is hard.

Wow.  Makes me all the more impressed by your work and the work of the devs.

Finding some great tuts tho, you're right about that.  Thank goodness so many talented folks are willing to share their knowledge. :)

How i play this is it just for making it or playing and making it

Got to say it does look fantastic, one question though SA, how well would that export out of Maya? For example the circular thing on the side of the cockpit, I read a tut that said you'd have problems if you didn't connect up that circle to the edges, can I just disregard this, or is there something I'm missing?

(Not a crit by the way, I'm loving your stuff, and the wireframes very useful for stealing helping me improve :) )

You can do it! (Sorry for the cheesy line from those adam sandler movies) Seriously anyone can do modelling if they take the time to just sit there and learn a program through tutorials and advice/tips from other users.

@Loonatic - I've put around 20-30 hours into it so far and undoubtably will put that in again.

@Heretic - I'm not sure how well it'll export into say .obj or .3ds from maya, .obj shouldn't have to many issues but maya - .3ds might well. Eventually once I've finished the model I'll try exporting it a few different ways and see what happens.

@Epicon - I'm using Maya 2008 and rendering with Mental ray plus eventually I'll be using Photoshop CS3 for texturing and for the scene I'm going to render.
And all this is done via a keyboard and mouse on a nearly three year old computer ;)

Hai! *kow tows* Arigato Sensei

I've become obsessed with best practice (so any and all tips I can learn I will).   Its taking me about 3 times longer than my first 'mech at the moment due to it (even though I'm using very simple meshes).  Am loving all the detailing BTW.
